Mosser was awarded this $3.9 million wastewater treatment plant improvements project that replaced the existing trickling filter WWTP with a new plant using an oxidation ditch process. The two independent oxidation ditch designs give the facility the ability to treat high storm flows without interfering with the normal wastewater treatment process. During a rainfall event, the oxidation ditch facility can enter a stormwater treatment mode, reducing or eliminating the need for a retention basin. A pump station was built, routing all flows to the new plant, eliminating the storm sewer overflows.
The plant also includes two clarifiers, an ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system and a new post aeration tank with retaining wall. As part of the construction, most of the plant area is receiving fill to raise the grade of the plant and keep it above the flood plain.
