The Sandusky County Park District discussed building the nature center for some time prior to approving the project. During the discussion period, the center established trails and restored nearly 90 acres of habitat on site.
The 310 acres of Creek Bend Farm was developed into a 1930s-1950s era farm park to showcase history and the importance of agriculture. The main barn was refurbished using ash trees from the property, one of the first registered tree farms in Ohio. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Mosser Construction was awarded the 4,000 sf project under a single prime contract and self-performed site concrete, carpentry and masonry work.
