Talent & Training Manager

Job Summary:

The Mosser Group is looking for a Talent and Training Manager to shape and implement strategies to recruit, develop, train, and retain high-performing employees. The Talent and Training Manager’s responsibilities include designing, creating, and directing our hiring initiatives in addition to developing employee training programs, formulating employee career pathways, and assisting in crafting of succession plans.  You will be responsible for managing applications and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the hiring process. You will also identify training and developmental needs and drive suitable training initiatives that foster employee engagement and loyalty.  Such initiatives include enhancing employees’ skills, performance, productivity, and quality of work. To be successful in this role, you should have a solid understanding of full-cycle recruiting along with a strategic mindset in order to develop and train a skilled workforce. Ultimately, you will build a talent pipeline that aligns with the Mosser Group’s hiring needs and business objectives, and devise our organizational training strategy, oversee its implementation, and assess its outcomes.


  • Oversee sourcing and hiring procedures to ensure we attract and select high-potential employees
  • Drive, direct, and manage recruitment efforts and processes in conjunction with the HR Manager
  • Implement strategic hiring procedures and improve upon our recruitment efforts
  • Work with department managers to ascertain hiring needs and requirements
  • In conjunction with the HR Manager, oversee the hiring of managers and office staff members
  • Create and suggest new and effective interviewing procedures and techniques
  • Engage in effective recruiting methods to determine the most effective applicant channels
  • Directly interact with job candidates and respond to initial queries
  • Process and track applicant job submissions
  • Manage recruitment databases
  • Conduct initial candidate screenings and interviews
  • Refer qualified and selected applicants to department managers for further interviews
  • Conduct and request required tests needed for hire (e.g., proficiency, background, drug, etc.)
  • Train and supervise department managers in the proper recruiting and interviewing processes
  • Conduct effective onboarding and orientation sessions
  • Document and present detailed progress reports of recruiting initiatives
  • Attend recruiting and job fairs to search out prospective employees
  • Develop mentoring and coaching sessions for employees
  • Craft and maintain succession plans for selected positions throughout the company
  • Discuss career-pathing options with high-potential employees
  • Conduct skills gap analyses to determine personnel needs
  • Create organizational charts and define each position’s responsibilities within the company
  • Calculate employee engagement metrics (e.g., retention and turnover rates)
  • In conjunction with the HR Manager, perform benchmark analyses of compensation and benefits
  • Provide team members with direction for leadership and development initiatives
  • Design, tailor, and deliver employee training programs (e.g. individual, team, skill-based and management training)
  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, and consultation with department managers
  • Formulate an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations
  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the training program’s effectiveness and success
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing development
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices
  • Demonstrate a positive reflection of our company to candidates
  • Adhere to labor employment laws and practices


  • Familiarity with Candidate Management Systems and Human Resources software
  • 2+ years of proven experience in talent management and recruitment
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefit packages
  • Track record in designing and executing traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job, or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience implementing learning and development programs
  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for recruitment reporting and training manuals
  • Thorough knowledge of labor legislation
  • Understanding of fair employment practices
  • Consistently meets deadlines
  • Respectful and patient
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Good computer and database skills
  • BS degree in organization development, education, human resources, or relevant field preferred
  • Additional certification (e.g. SPHR, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus
