Light-Medium Duty Equipment Technician



Under limited supervision, the technician performs repairs and and light maintenance on construction equipment, compact equipment, light service on pickup trucks and company cars and performs related work as assigned.


  • Diagnoses, rebuild and repairs company owned equipment.
    • Fluid and filter changes
    • Repair and replace small engines
    • Repair of small generators and electric concrete tools.
    • Pull and replace hydraulic pumps and motors
    • Pull and replace hydraulic cylinders
    • Make hydraulic hoses
    • Perform other related repairs.
  • Diagnoses and repairs company owned pickup trucks, small trailers and company owned cars.
    • Fluid and filter changes.
    • Lights and Brake maintenance.
    • Perform other related repairs.
  • Performs inspection and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports.
  • Track and schedule annual Federal inspections for Trucks and Trailers.
  • Diagnoses rebuild and repair company owned Skid Steer, Telehandler, forklifts, mortar mixers, Hydro mobile scaffold, water pumps and power washers.
  • Clean and maintain the mechanic shop and storage areas.
  • Inspect materials when added or returned to inventory and store in an orderly fashion.
  • Update Equipment Maintenance and Repair records.
  • Perform other related duties, as necessary.


  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-years construction equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of and experience in heavy equipment/tools related to the construction industry is highly desired.
  • Automotive repair experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform motor skills including but not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting and using a step ladder.
  • Must have proficient mobility of arms and hands
  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force and handling items up to 75 lbs on occasion
  • Have a valid drivers’ license and qualify for corporate driving policy.
  • CDL Class A – or the ability to get one within the 1st year of employment.
  • Basic computer skills for tracking inventory and maintenance records.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment when needed.
  • Ability to put safety first.
  • Ability to drive (Local, distance over roads, and off-road at a jobsite).
