Mosser was the general contractor for the Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University, the first academic center in the world devoted to liquid crystal science research. Nonexistent 30 years ago, the technology of liquid crystal displays will continue to impact our world by becoming the display of choice for future desktop monitors, electronic magazines, and newspapers. The demanding market and a growing need for a dedicated educational facility inspired Kent State to build this facility.
- Specialized work areas include a 3,500 sf liquid crystal science research clean room, 1,000 sf of class space, 10,000 sf clean space, and three teaching laboratories.
- The project also included two classrooms, a 150-seat auditorium, seminar room, conference room, and 25 modular research laboratories.
