The Mansfield Madison Middle School houses grades 5 through 8 and serves up to 1,000 students in the district. Split into two wings, one for fifth and sixth grades students and another for seventh and eighth grade students, the middle school includes space for three art rooms, two science labs, a modular tech lab, and a distance-learning lab. It also boasts three varsity gyms with retractable bleachers and dividers, as well an auxiliary gym and hybrid cafeteria/auditorium.
As the general trades contractor for the project, Mosser Construction’s contract included site work piping, grading and pavement, concrete foundation and slabs, masonry, structural steel, drywall, painting, acoustical ceiling, wood flooring, and many other work items that contributed to the state-of-the-art construction of the school.
Currently a LEED Registered project seeking Silver Certification, the building includes many energy-efficient features such as numerous skylights which take advantage of natural daylight, motion-sensitive lighting, and year-round geothermal heating and air conditioning.
Despite being a state-of-the-art facility, the Mansfield Madison Middle School has a unique, “old” feature. The arch from the original 1925 high school adorns the school’s entrance.
