This ramp reconfiguration project improved sections of the I-475 and US-23 interchange in Sylvania Township, Lucas County, Ohio.
It consisted of reconstructing and resurfacing 1.47 miles of I-475 and realignment of US-23. Two new bridges were added on US-23 Southbound and one bridge on I-475 was replaced and widened.
Over 300,000 CY of embankment was placed as part of this project. Mosser Construction was the prime contractor and also provided value engineering ideas before and througout construction.
This project eliminated a major traffic conflict for I-475 SB traffic attemting to exit at Central Avenue. Once the project was complete, the exit ramps for I-475 SB and US-23 SB to get to Central Avenue were separated which then removed the deadly conflict zone of the past.
